HERZLIYA, ISRAEL—Pendo, a U.S.-based software company, today announced a new Israel site leader, former Intuit executive Micky Csasznik-Shaked. Csasznik-Shaked will lead Pendo’s development center as well as its engineering team in Israel.

Before joining Pendo, Csasznik-Shaked served as Intuit’s Global Development Center lead in Israel, where he oversaw and managed local product and engineering teams. The size of the operation nearly tripled during Csasznik-Shaked’s tenure. As the site lead, Csasznik-Shaked also helped to assimilate the organizational culture, established from Intuit’s Mountain View, Calif. headquarters. Prior to his role at Intuit, Csasznik-Shaked served as the R&D platform director at Check Inc., which Intuit acquired in 2014.

“It was a no-brainer to hire Micky to lead our growing R&D operations in Israel,” said Todd Olson, Pendo CEO and co-founder. “He has an incredible track record of leading teams and building software, as well as a strong passion for making Israel a hub of technology innovation globally. We are proud to have him on our team.”

Founded in 2013 and backed by Battery Ventures, Spark Capital, Meritech Capital and Sapphire Ventures, Pendo offers a product experience platform—also known as a product cloud—that provides user insight, guidance and communication to digital product teams.

With the Pendo product cloud, product, customer success and growth marketing teams can understand product usage, collect feedback, measure NPS, onboard users, and announce new features in app—all without requiring engineering resources. Customers simply install a line of code in a web or mobile application and begin understanding user actions in their software. By pairing insights from user behavior with in-app guidance and communication, software organizations can increase user engagement, improve onboarding and retention, and ultimately make better products.

Pendo’s Israeli R&D center was established in 2017, with the acquisition of Insert.io, the Israeli mobile messaging startup company. The office is primarily made of up mobile developers, product managers and designers, as well as recruiting and administrative staff.

“We have world class engineers and technologists in Israel, and the team at Pendo is no exception,” Csasznik-Shaked said. “I’m excited to work alongside this group, to build an even larger team and to contribute to Pendo’s mission to improve the way software is built around the world.”

Csasznik-Shaked is a strong advocate for technology literacy and over the past few years has  established a number of social organizations to promote technological literacy and entrepreneurship in the Galilee. He has also been involved in the Israeli Cyber Championship for students as part of his activities in the Israel Advanced Technology Industries (IATI) education committee.

Csasznik-Shaked (48) is married, has three children, and lives in Lotem. During his military service, he served as an officer in an Elite combat unit.
