Now in its third year. The State of Product Leadership 2020 Edition is bigger and better, casting a global net to understand the priorities and perspectives of product teams in North America, the UK, France and Germany. Each year, there are a handful of findings that genuinely surprise us and others that confirm what we generally suspected. In both cases, the insights are instructive–and we think important.
The 2018 State of Product Leadership survey suggested a role very much on the rise, with PMs taking on more and more responsibility and reporting high job satisfaction.
The 2019 survey paints a decidedly different picture of what feels like a role in transition. We surveyed 300 product leaders who own or lead teams focused on software products. We asked about their responsibilities, effectiveness, organizational structure, career path, and satisfaction.
