Pendo customers can now understand and guide users across multi-app portfolios; democratize guide authoring with a new visual design studio; and utilize Pendo in the most demanding enterprise use cases.

RALEIGH, NC AND CLEVELAND — OCT 2, 2018 — Pendo, creator of the leading product cloud for digital products and data-driven product teams, today announced major product updates that support the company’s continued march into the enterprise and across functions and roles that need to engage customers directly inside digital products. The announcement was made at INDUSTRY: The Product Conference, an annual event for software product managers. This announcement follows news last month that Pendo had closed a $50m Series D round led by Sapphire Ventures, and was named to the Forbes Cloud 100.

“The product cloud has taken off with SaaS product teams and is now also gaining acceptance with large, often traditional enterprises and a broader set of roles” said Todd Olson, co-founder and CEO of Pendo. “These newest capabilities focus on Pendo ‘growing up and out,’ serving the largest companies on the planet and supporting a broader set of roles that rely on product insight and increasingly expect to communicate with an engage users inside the app.”

With a growing number of customer touchpoints moving into digital products–from marketing and sales to training and support–more stakeholders beyond product managers now need access to product insights to understand how users engage with and journey through products and to engage with users directly in the app. These latest Pendo features are designed to allow a broader set of non-technical contributors to orchestrate aspects of the product experience.

New capabilities deliver on three primary themes:

  • From individual apps to multi-app portfolios–Large organizations don’t have just one digital product to optimize; they have many. With this industry-first capability, Pendo customers can now capture user insight across multiple digital products and guide users across these apps. This allows product teams to track and compare the usage of different applications in their portfolio (ex. native mobile vs web applications). They can also track individual users and accounts as they move across different applications in a portfolio, and roll up usage data across a suite of products for a more holistic understanding of customer health. • Visual “building block” guide creation–As customers deploy Pendo across their organizations, stakeholders with varying technical skill levels are now eager to design customer education, engagement and marketing campaigns inside the app. Pendo customers now have the option between “classic” mode and an entirely new visual design studio for creating in-app guides and messages. Using point-and-click “building blocks,” this studio allows contributors of any technical skill level to easily assemble and deliver sophisticated in-app messages, guides and requests for user feedback. This new modular architecture will also accelerate the delivery of new Pendo features and third-party integrations as part of a growing library of building blocks developed by Pendo and its partner ecosystem.
  • Enterprise-grade transparency, control and extensibility–Pendo’s role-based access and authoring controls, broad scalability, and rigorous privacy and security policies allow large organizations to feel comfortable fully using Pendo knowing that the integrity of their products and their customers won’t be at risk. Pendo’s best-in-class commitment to enterprise-grade security and privacy controls was recently validated with the completion of a SOC2 Type 2 certification, one of the most stringent international standards for security, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality and privacy. In addition, Pendo has implemented robust governance and controls to ensure GDPR compliance. Learn more about Pendo’s enterprise features here.
