5 tips from Pendo’s PLG team to supercharge your 2024

Take your product—and your career—to new heights this year.

Welcome to 2024! From wherever this blog finds you, I hope you are feeling refreshed and ready to make this year your most impactful one to date.

If there’s one thing my product-led growth (PLG) team at Pendo learned in 2023, it’s that sharing is caring when it comes to advice for achieving product-led success. We learned so much from fellow PLG teams across industries last year, so to return the favor we’re sharing our five top tips to make the most of your product (and your career) in 2024.

1. Create (and share) a roadmap that pivots when you do

A new year is the perfect opportunity to get your teams and stakeholders aligned around your vision through a unified product roadmap. At Pendo, we’ve learned that constant testing and iteration requires a PLG roadmap that’s more agile than most.

Enter Pendo’s free roadmap tool. With customizable swimlanes and drag-and-drop functionality, Pendo Roadmaps makes it easier than ever to plan, share, and monitor your team’s progress in real time. The simple-to-use interface and seamless sharing options makes our Pendo roadmap the key to keeping stakeholders along for the ride for every PLG priority (and pivot) that comes our way. Ready to get your teams rallied around your product-led vision for the year ahead? Get started with your 2024 roadmap today.

2. Prioritize customer satisfaction—and use data to do it

Regardless of what industry you’re in or what team you’re on, the ultimate success metric you should obsess over this year is how satisfied your customers are. The reason for iterating quickly in a PLG motion is to avoid investing too deeply in features or products that won’t contribute to happier, stickier customers. Ensure you’re using your customers’ satisfaction as a guiding metric in 2024 by leveraging Net Promoter Score (NPS) in Pendo.

At Pendo, we have our NPS data integrated into a Slack channel so we can easily review every NPS response that comes our way (even our CEO reads each response!). Before you put the pedal to the metal on your 2024 roadmap, be sure to set up a steady feed of quantitative and qualitative feedback directly from your user base by launching a free NPS survey with Pendo.

3. Uplevel your skillset and never stop learning

There’s a famous quote that I think captures tip #3 perfectly: “If you are not willing to learn, no one can help you. If you are determined to learn, no one can stop you.”

To be unstoppable this year, our PLG team will make learning a priority, and we’ll lean on Pendo to help. With three brand new (free!) certification courses released in 2023, Pendo has an incredible lineup to help you take your product career to the next level. You’ll even see some members from Pendo’s PLG team as course instructors.

From product analytics, to product-led fundamentals, and even a course on AI best practices for PMs, Pendo has you covered with the top skills you’ll need to excel in 2024 (and beyond). The best part? When you complete a course, you’ll earn a digital badge that you can share on LinkedIn and other channels.

4. Expand your network and lean on your peers

Learning from the pros via Pendo trainings and certification courses is a fantastic way to supercharge your skillset, but there is something uniquely powerful about surrounding yourself with a network of peers you can lean on, relate to, and grow with. That’s why our PLG team (along with 8,000+ product, marketing, engineering, and design professionals) are members of Pendo Connect (Pendo’s official Slack channel).

Once a member, you’ll have access to tips, tricks, and best practices shared by thousands of product professionals, just like you! Join Pendo Connect today and say hello to your new favorite way to network in 2024.

5. Work smarter, not harder with Pendo

In order for my team to build even better PLG motions for Pendo this year, we will be relying on the power of the Pendo platform to do the heavy lifting. You’re probably thinking, “Of course you’re going to say that,” but as a longtime Pendo user, I’ve been relying on Pendo’s in-app guides and product analytics to fuel my PLG efforts way before I joined Pendo.

But don’t just take my word for it. There are many ways to experience the power of Pendo for yourself. To get started with Pendo right now, you can go ahead and create a free account. This will give you access to all of the basics you need to start collecting product and user analytics data, as well as creating targeted in-app messages. Once you have your free account, you can try all of Pendo’s paid features at any time by unlocking a free 30-day trial. We’ll never ask you for a credit card or a commitment, so you have nothing to lose (and so many insights to gain) by giving Pendo a try.

No time to click around? No problem. Schedule time with a member of our team to chat through all the ways Pendo can help you achieve your goals this year.
