Stakeholders as students: Product management tips from a teacher
In this session, Suki will cover three core areas related to product management and share insights gleaned from his former teaching career. First, he’ll explore how to recognize skill deficits that must be overcome to pursue a career in product management. Then, he’ll take a look at how PMs can better leverage various modes of data and storytelling to convey the same message to different stakeholders—including tailoring communication to different audiences: From presenting topline financial information to C-suite executives, to project timelines to engineering teams. Finally, Suki will delve into user feedback and measuring outcomes, highlighting how to measure learning via Pendo data, and the importance of avoiding cognitive traps when incomplete information is available.
