How behavioral data is transforming sports and media, with the New York Times and Kraft Analytics

Wednesday 10/9 | 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

How do you leverage a massive audience to give you competitive strengths, but without poisoning the well? How do you reconcile the full power and promise of data? Both the New York Times and Kraft Analytics have dug deep to answer these questions, and we’re excited to welcome them both to the Pendomonium main stage for a discussion about data-driven transformations across sports and media. This keynote session will cover:

NYT Games: Lessons in Driving Audience and Retention with Wordle and Connections

What happens after you turn on the dream funnel of 10s of millions of users to your site? In this talk, the Executive Director of Data for NYT Games will walk you through some data lessons they’ve learned and successful strategies they’ve deployed after inheriting the internet’s darling, Wordle, and how they leveraged it to unlock even more audience funnels.

The 4th Industrial Revolution, Data: How Analytics is Changing the Game

Learn the inside story of how the sports industry has adopted analytics to understand fans, improve business operations, and change the game itself. Hear from Jessica Gelman, KAGR (Kraft Analytics Group) CEO on her story and the role of analytics in the journey to gain organizational buy-in to the creation and evolution of KAGR’s leadership across major US sports leagues and international waters.

Following these talks, Hunter and Jessica will sit down with Pendo Chief of Staff Sneha Raghavan for a fireside chat.
