“Onboarding” can mean a lot of things in the world of SaaS tools—the first few user interactions are critical for feature adoption, communicating product value, portraying the company’s “world view,” and more. It can be tempting to try to do all of these things at once—which is exactly what we got wrong when we launched a new user onboarding flow last year.
